The Meeting

Poem: The Lord and I have an appointment underneath an old pinetree,
my sacred place of refuge where I pray for peace and serenity,
He greets me with open arms and I run to him like a little child,
He smiles and takes my hand as we sit underneath the tree to talk for awhile,
I tell him about my troubles and all my fears,
My many trials that caused me so many tears,
"Lord, I tried to do my best",
"Many times I have failed you",
I saw tears in his eyes,
He replied,"When you laughed, I laughed with you",
"When you cried, I cried too",
"When you were troubled and didn't know what to do",
"I came and I comforted you",
"I know everything you have been through",
"There was never a moment that I ever left you",
"I love you and I am always here for you",
"You are my child,
by your side I will always be".
