Help Desk (Q&A)
How do I know it's God talking to me?
Ok, I know we've all had this question in our lives. You're in church and you have this overwhelming feeling that you need to go pray with someone, maybe something told you to call someone to see if you could help them, or maybe you have that feeling you need to do something right now for God. I've been there. But how often we tell ourselves, Was that God telling me to do this or was it just that little voice in my head? A great Pastor once told me we've got to listen to God. He was telling of a story of a choir song playing about our God being the King. God told him to kneel down, right there at his pew, as one would do in the presence of the King. Well he struggled, and just stood there as probably we would have too. But God had him kneel and he later shared his story with our class. You're saying by now, what's your point? The point is, sometimes God just want's to see if we'll do the little things he asks. You never know, maybe your friends been depressed and praying to God for help, and God gave you the urge to just call him/her to just talk! Don't let God down, when he asks you to do something, do it. And remember if you don't know if it's God asking you to do something, think about it -You know WWJD! Satan wouldn't have you go prey with someone or to call them to offer support or to ask a friend to church now would he?
I'll leave you with three similarities of Bible characters through whom God worked:
1. When God spoke, they knew it was God.
2. They knew what God was saying.
3. They knew what they were to do in response.
