Prayer is comprised of confessions of sins, seeking God for guidance, for direction, an expression of an intimate relationship with our heavenly Father, and an act of praise to our mighty God. Jesus said that Prayer should be consistent and persistent (Luke 18:1). Through Prayer we confess our dependency to our mighty God and our commitment to obedience. Some preach that if you prey for riches you'll receive. You can Pray for anything your heart desires friends (a new car,wealth,health), just don't turn from God when your prayers for material things goes unheard! 1 John 5:14 reads We can be confident that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with his will. Instead, Pray for Spiritual growth and guidance. Pray for forgiveness. Pray to become a strong witness. Pray for things you feel God would have you pray for. And remember that God may not bless you with more riches if you are not using the money he has already blessed you with faithfully!
