Where does hope come from?

Complete Listing of Topics/Questions

Hope comes from the Father.

Psalm 71:5 reads, "O Lord, you alone are my hope. I've trusted you, O LORD, from childhood." Psalm 39:7 reads, "Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you."

You may be asking, How can I trust God with my Hope?

  1. Hebrews 6:18-19 reads, "God has given us both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to his promise with confidence. This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain of heaven into God's inner sanctuary."

  2. Hebrews 10:23 reads, "Without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have, for God can be trusted to keep his promise."

  3. 1 Peter 1:21 reads, "Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And because God raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory, your faith and hope can be placed confidently in God."

Where can you go to reinforce your hope? The Bible.

  1. Romans 15:4 reads, "Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. They give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises."

Try to focus on the future, especially your eternal future which will give you energy to press on in your daily tasks.

Philippians 3:13-14 read, "No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.
