Blessed

I'm blessed to have a family.
I'm blessed to have you living in me.
You've saved me from my darkest fears.
You've always dried up my sobs and tears.
My life is the best gift you've given to me.
You have found me when I was lost,
You've opened my eyes so I can see.
I could go on with more,
but I'm sure you've already guessed,
there's nothing better than always being blessed!!

Taming the Tongue

My untamed tongue I can't tackle
And so a bad joke, I loudly crack
Easy to see, all self-control I lack
As I helplessly start to cackle!

Now my conscience starts to gnaw
"Lord, you know I love you so
But I'm just going with the flow
And that can't be too big a flaw!"

Unsuspectingly, I pick up the Bible
James 1:26 is what eye can see
"Your religion is as useless as can be
If you can't control your gab & giggle!"

The Promise

God didn't promise life without pain.
A life of sunshine and no rain.
He made it plain as a windowpane.
There would be no gain without pain.

Sin is to blame and it's a shame
to be caught in its flame.
That's why Christ came
to set us free from its flames.

Chit Chat

Have you heard the news?
Are you singing the blues?
Does life have you beat?
I have a tip that's really neat!
God doesn't care if you live in the streets.
He can set your feet dancing with an upbeat.
If you ask him in a heartbeat.

Seeds

Seeds are planted, and how they grow
is not for you, or I to know...

Our job's to choose, and plant the seed
God gives to us, to meet a need...

Pruning of Thee

I thought that a poem
would be good at this time
to bring out a truth
to write out a rhyme...
Like a dance on a page
to see something new
like a dawn in the mind
to bring it to view...

The believer today
will have many a test
the trial, the heartache
the leaving the nest...
The testings of fire
the moldings of clay
the pruning of life
day after day...

At the gate of your heart
if bitterness be
from the testing of fire
and the pruning of thee...
Remember the past
God meeting your need
He works on the heart
and puts in the seed...

There's reward for the life
and great it will be
from the results of the fire
and fruit from the tree...

Great value you have
in the eyes of the King
great worth He has placed
in the simplest thing...
TRUST in the LORD
with all of your heart
not money or things
should keep you apart...

For the LORD He is high
and forever will be
which brings one to ponder
What can man do for me...?
It's a choice to be faithful
it's a choice to stay free
it's a choice to let God
do the pruning in thee...

Long life He will give
many times you will see
the workings of God
in His Salvation for thee...
Like a dance on a page
we will read in the end
God: Redeemer, Provider,
Father, and Friend...

Gift for Thee

I love the spring, when things do grow
no effort made, the seeds I sow
even though I sleep, they bud the same
the flowers speak, they call my name

to encourage those, who chance a view
God sends a card, of I Love You
machinery great, the details grand
to make it grow, to make it stand
thoughtfulness there, kindness too
to make a gift, just for you

I love the stars, the night time brings
no thoughts of mine, made these things
some are close, the seaman smiles
some are far, our awe inspires
a structure there, a beauty too
to encourage those, who chance a view
machinery great, the details grand
to make a sight, to encourage a man
thoughtfulness there, kindness too
to make eternity, just for you

The bar is high, these gifts He's made
I'll give my life, to learn the trade
my brush is small, my intent is sweet
the colors gray, but the line is neat
to paint my life, in such a way
to be a gift, day after day
He sees my work, an awful hue
and decides to add, a color or two
a structure there, a beauty too
to encourage those, who chance a view
I've made my choice, my resolve is true
God help me be, a gift for you.

Shattered Victims

Poem: Tonight I'm crying for this world
A world of broken hearts
Shattered victims all whose lives
Are full of splintered parts

Children's tears, the aged's fears
The blind, the deaf, insane,
Broken homes and broken vows,
We don't know who's to blame

But every time it is the weak
Whose pain is felt the most
And over often who gets blamed?
Father, Son and Holy Ghost

I need Him

Life can be a challenge. filled with worry, and stress.
Sometimes as a mother, there is little time to rest.
There are days when everything seems grim.
That is when I really need Him.
Oh God with all that life can demand.
I will hold on to your hand.
And it will be then that I can stand.
You created me to need you, and to worship you each day.
You give me a sweet peace inside everytime I pray.
I know deep within the depths of my soul.
It is you alone that makes me whole.
